Program Overview & Benefits
The Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene is part of Canada’s largest private educational facility dedicated to the highest standards of dental hygiene education. Dental hygienists work with clients and can treat them independently of the dentist, with certain restrictions.
Dental Hygiene is a dynamic and challenging health care profession that allows for a wide range of practice environments. These include general dental practices, speciality offices, independent dental hygiene clinics, research and education, and public health positions.
Dental hygienists perform many client services, including scaling and root planing (cleaning teeth), oral self-care education, placing sealants, and whitening teeth.
Dental hygienists are in high demand and by upgrading skills, a dental hygienist can take on additional duties and responsibilities. Once a graduate registers with the British Columbia College of Oral Health Professionals (BCCOHP), their skills are well remunerated.
